For more than 50 years, we have made a choice: aluminium.

Our yachts stand out through their all-aluminium construction. Hull, deck, coachroof, cockpit and superstructure: every component is assembled using internal and external welding to create a homogeneous, strong and durable structure.

Over the years, Alubat has developed unique expertise in aluminium yacht construction, notably through the use of semi-thick aluminium plating. This approach is one of the defining technical characteristics of the new-generation OVNI yachts.

Après un premier hiver à entretenir et à améliorer notre OVNI 385, nous avons fait en 2025 un beau périple entre les îles de Bretagne Sud puis une traversée du Golfe de Gascogne pour découvrir les rias espagnoles entre Gijon et la Corogne. Pas de problème à déplorer ! Que du bonheur !

Les performances de notre OVNI 430 intriguent, on a mis 3 jours sur la Transpac à « Red Lion », parti 48h avant nous et arrivé 28h après, et 2 jours à un Contest 49 parti avec nous de Panama… A la même période, beaucoup ont mis 35 jours et plus… Du coup nos moins de 29 jours quasiment sans moteur clôturent le débat sur la soi-disant lenteur des OVNI !

Nous avons réalisé 30 000 miles et fait 1000 heures de moteur sur ce périple de 4 ans à bord de CAP’, notre OVNI 395 de 2017, que nous avons acheté en seconde main à Alubat en 2020. Nous n’avons eu aucun problème sérieux avec le bateau. Partis des Baléares en passant par Gibraltar, Canaries, Cap Vert, transat, Cuba, Panama, transpacifique, Polynésie Française, transpac retour, Patagonie, Cap Horn, nous envisageons maintenant l’Antarctique etc…

L’OVNI 490 est très agréable tant en navigation qu’au mouillage.
Il est très sain, très sécurisant dans les conditions rencontrées (jusqu’à 30 knts). Les manœuvres sont aisées, y compris à 2. Les performances sont bonnes, surtout sur les traversées lorsque l’on se compare aux autres bateaux à l’AIS !
