As a veritable 4×4 of the seas, the OVNI 370 combines endurance, versatility and the joy of sailing. Behind its reputation as a blue water cruiser lies a yacht with carefully engineered performance, capable of realising its full potential under sail without ever compromising safety and comfort on board.
To design its modern sail plan, ALUBAT teamed up with the naval architects Mortain-Mavrikios and CBA. Together, they sought the right balance between efficiency, stability and ease of handling.
The choice of an aft-swept spreader rig contributes to the boat’s overall balance. In particular, it aligns the centres of gravity of the hull and the sails, promoting a harmonious distribution of the forces and creating balanced handling under sail.
The OVNI 370’s sail plan is also based on a consistent balance between the mainsail and the solent , which have very similar sail areas. This configuration offers great versatility and allows the sails to be easily adapted to different sailing conditions, from inshore trips to long crossings.
The result is a responsive and well-balanced boat, capable of delivering excellent performance in a variety of conditions. Performance designed for long-distance sailing, enabling you to sail far, for long periods and with pleasure.
With 350 liters of fresh water and 480 liters of gasoil, there is a large autonomy: Weeks at anchor, non-stop crossings. The carrying capacity is sufficient for provisions, spare parts and equipment.

For Alain Mortain, of the Mortain/Mavrikios team of naval architects, every design choice contributes to the boat’s overall balance:
« To meet the requirements of Category A, we’ve moved the centre of buoyancy slightly forward, allowing the ballast to be kept in a low position and thereby slightly refining the waterline in the forward third. The rounding of the bilge in the forward third improves stability at greater wind angles and increases interior volume. »
This quest for balance is also reflected in the choice of semi-thick aluminium construction. Jean-Pierre Brouns, of the CBA design office, explains:
« We have combined our expertise with the team at Mortain/Mavrikios to design a sailing yacht with semi-thick aluminium hull plating, ensuring exemplary strength that allows for cruising anywhere while optimising the structure’s footprint, and consequently, thermal bridges.. »
Two complementary areas of expertise working towards the same goal: to create a sturdy, seaworthy and comfortable boat, designed for long passages.
Aboard the OVNI 370, comfort extends naturally to the outside. The raised saloon, offset to starboard, forms a genuine deck lounge, wide open to the horizon thanks to the panoramic coachroof.
From the saloon, the unobstructed views allow you to navigate whilst enjoying the comfort of the interior. On the port side, the raised chart table also offers a prime vantage point for watchkeeping, planning the next stages of the voyage or working on board.
The galley, situated on the port side, features ample storage space. Every detail is designed to make life on board easier: positioned beneath the central seating opposite the companionway, the drawer-style fridge opens forward for convenient and safe access.
Near the companionway, the wet locker is naturally positioned just before the bathroom.
Forward, the separate shower provides added everyday comfort, which is particularly welcome on long passages.
Aft on the starboard side, a compartment houses the electrical equipment while retaining a flexible space that can be adapted to suit your needs and your project.
Comfort on board also depends on effective temperature control.
The OVNI 370 features double insulation combining two layers of sprayed cork and a layer of Armacell foam, giving a total thickness of 30 mm from the waterline to the deck.
This insulation minimises thermal bridges and helps reduce condensation, while providing genuine thermal inertia. The interior therefore remains a more pleasant place to be, whether in cold climates or in the tropics.

Aboard the OVNI 370, outdoor comfort is based above all on intuitive and safe sailing. Every element of the deck layout has been designed to facilitate sailing manoeuvres and make the boat particularly easy to handle, even when short-handed.
Lines are centralised in the cockpit, directly accessible from the helm, and grouped around the two coachroof winches, which are fitted as standard. This layout simplifies operations, minimises the need to move about on deck and allows the skipper to remain fully focused on sailing.
The twin steering wheels provide excellent visibility when helming and ensure a smooth flow of movement in the cockpit. At the bow, the twin bow roller makes for easy anchoring and contributes to the boat’s offshore capabilities.
Designed to cruise the world’s oceans, the OVNI 370 prioritises a robust, versatile design free from any unnecessary complications. Its shaft-driven propeller offers a reliable and tried-and-tested solution, whilst its centreboard, which is manually raised and lowered, can be assisted by an electric winch for added convenience.

Non : la rouille ne touche que les métaux ferreux, et ce métal se protège par une fine couche d’oxyde. Le point de vigilance est la corrosion galvanique (contact avec d’autres métaux, fuites de courant), que l’on maîtrise par une installation électrique soignée, des anodes adaptées et un entretien régulier.
